RE-Xtreme Tsunami TA-D7 RX-7

Here is the new machine.

Image

Hand cut masks. followed by lazy cleanup... lines aren't perfect but I'm loving it.

Image

Kazama FXR +8 + 2mm spacer and 13 degree camber up front.

Blue chrome deco-tape worked well on the details.

We shall see how long this body lasts...

Image

My last Tamiya Super GT body is still going strong after some massive mistreatment.

Just a few minors to finish but 99% complete.

Satisfied... YES!

Some location shots.
There will be a compilation video soon from MAX ONE.

Image

Yesterday I went down to the track.
I had a clear vision for today's settings after a mini comp last week where I finally could compare my car and skills to others.
I ended up dropping the DRb from CS 1.8 to CS 1.5 and changing settings a little, then adding about 200 grams to the body. I'm still running some quite unorthodox settings at the rear for Slide-ability.

Image

I was running with the owner of MAX-ONE, at first we were fighting and perfecting setups with our DRBs but by the end of the day... We were within a few mm of each other for quite a few laps. My DRB and his full tune failsafe TA-06 (similar to my own). <- these things are good too.
I got some big compliments today. Makes me feel like I've finally made it to the top.

Image

My two DRBs swap roles from test and tuned chassis and vice versa. managing the "two car TEAM" is actually very very beneficial.

My Second DRB SSG HT CS 1.8 (seen here in green) is still a wild CS machine but I'll try to get it functioning a little more stable. It transitions like a switch. I'm actually looking to calm it down.

Keep pushing.

...Next Body... Tamiya ORC RX7 in Yellow and gold maybe? i have a third chassis in the build. haha...

Thanks for the comments

It's not perfect
But the overall effect is pretty special
I'm very happy I could drift it for a day and not put too many scratches on it.
Lucky!

Definitely going to do another in a different color

Russ.

Awesome! I'd love to see a version with these collours: Grey, white and Chrome yellow

The grey instead of the light blue, the white stripes stay the same and the chrome yellow instead of the dark blue.

I updated the old green body with new wheels to match my "2 DRB team". Kazama FXR wheels + My Custom DIY Translucent Green
Headlights are now green and white driving lights.
blue car now has blue headlights and white driving lights.

Image

note the big HOLE near the bonnet from my old RE-R spur position... yuk!
now it's empty.

Image

who's gonna drive what?

Stone cold and the rock can't decide.

new color will probably be black, silver and chrome red... on a red drb... hmmm still working on that swap... hehe.
this is my "samurai" color scheme.

Green car
No fix for the spur
Hole is till there

Tb-03. Go back to ifs :) haha
Mine rests on the yokomo towers
Try a carbon tower
Must be only a few mm in it
